unnecessary classes
« on: February 21, 2016, 04:05:45 pm »
1. Arc trooper: he got better armor then the clone trooper and hes better in melee why should anyone play the basic trooper?
2. Clone Commandos: they got a **** gun(many ppl complain about) and thats the only way to balance them you simply cant balance them because they have only advantages over the clone trooper
3. this could be a overall solution for our little problem with the class limits u could play any class you want but you would have to earn it

i suggest a complete rebalance of All the item costs

-advanced classes(Acolyte warrior/Sorcerer, Magna guard, Bounty Hunter, BX-Droid) should only be accesable by earning money  players should be rewarded with advanced classes

-advanced classes are: (Acolyte warrior/Sorcerer, Magna guard, Bounty Hunter, BX-Droid, B2) for seperatists

-advanced classes are(Jedi consular/guardian, Arc-Trooper, Clone Commando, Heavy Clonetrooper, Clone Sharpshooter, Jet trooper, Wookie Warrior) for the Republic

please post a reply if u agree/disagree with me

Look at the servers. There are only two useful classes.   :) The Jedi and flyers. Sometimes - a simple infantry, with a shield and a sword. Moreover, a simple infantryman stronger than MagnaGuard.

Imo, you can never trully balance the public gameplay AND the event gameplay with the specific ruleset. Bear Force should focus on event balacing only imo.

It's simple, event must use special gamemode with special classes and maps.

Sellsword a little tip, try to avoid the usage of words like "must". Rather suggest the making of a special gamemode for events.

This is just my opinion. But I really think this is the only way out.
I did it for a long time ago.  :)

this doesnt conflict with the vent balancing since u have 10000 gold on event this would only effect public play

I find that gold system weak.
If two buddies wants to go on the server at 5am to test the different classes on an empty server, are they supposed to kill eachother until they get enough gold?
If two buddies wants to do a jet dogfight at 5am on an empty server because **** it, let's make a dogfight on Bear Force, are they supposed to kill eachother until they get enough gold?

And I'm quite confused about your system: are we supposed to buy the classes?
If your idea is to require money to buy the default "advanced" classes' armor and the currently default weapons, It doesn't sound bad.
But I think that from a time wasting point of view, it's useless.

If I could choose, I'd rather let the devs take their time on balancing the actual weapons for events rather than fixing the gold balance issue on the public server.
I mean, it lets them try different classes, with different weapons and models: what's the harm? It's a public server, not a tryhard feast. They are here to shoot and pew pew at people, not camp like a camouflaged recon operative in the middle of an amazonian forest.

If they want to optimize their loadout, let them be. If they want to be an Arc trooper because of the pauldrons, let them be. Either way, they enjoy the game. What's the harm in that?

The harm in the crooked balance.   When one class stronger than the others, the rest becomes useless.
