New hardrive
« on: May 17, 2017, 09:30:41 pm »
well as my PC comes to being 5 years old the time has come to update my hard drive, My whole PC (except graphics card is 5 years old) and its starting to show, i recently got a blue screen of death for a disk write error, and so i think my hard drive is giving up.
Currently, i have an old 2 tb hard drive and its at 1.2 tb full.
any suggestions on a new 2 TB hard drive.
also other than graphics card(wich I recently updated) what should i also look at replacing at my PC come towards its 6-year mark.

You need to look at a new CPU, RAM and if the Motherboard works together with the CPU you want.

The Cpu and Motherboard need to support the same Socket.

The CPU shouldn't be too expensive, you can get really good CPU's for like 100-200
The Motherboard shouldn't be more than 100 afaik.

RAM is not too expensive either. 8GB is enough for everyday use and gaming without too much background stuff. Cost is around ~70

Hard Drive space is really cheap already. You can get 2 TB HDD's for under 100. SSD's can get more expensive but they are brutally fast ;D

For prices and what you should buy there isn't really a guideline. You should look for your lokal website that compares prices.
